New Life

2011.07.10 - It's time to make it an end.  Acknowledge it, face it, feel it.

Be tough, boy.  You need to grow up.  Become a mature man.  No anger.
Life has to go on no matter what, right?

Germany and Czech 2010 - 2

20 June 2010 (Sun) – Fussen –

We got up quite early today, as there are free all-you-can-eat breakfast served in the hotel. The dining place is on the ground floor. The place is good. The food is also good. Many choices of bread, butter and ham. The bread is very tough, all German breads are tough. The breakfast are cold generally, except the egg.

We planned to go to Fussen, but the weather was not good. We asked the hotel reception – Vadim, and he told us that the weather wouldn’t be fine in the coming few days, which was unusual for summer Munich. We were unlucky, but we still stick on our plan.

We went to Fussen by train of DB Bahn. The train part of Hauptbanhof is very big, modern and new, with large food courts, souvenir shops and supermarkets. A very convenient place and it was only 10 minutes walk from our hotel. We liked it.

It is easy to travel by train in Germany. Particularly the DB ticket machines help a lot. You can buy the tickets, check the train schedule and even print a timetable with all essential information: train nos., nos. of transfer, time, transfer stations. It is very user-friendly.

The train ticket is expensive. We bought a Bayern Ticket. Eur 28 for 2-5 persons to travel unlimited ride of DB Bahn, S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram, bus in one day.

It takes around 2 hours to go to Fussen. After that we need to take a bus ride to the castle areas which takes around 10 minutes.

The weather was really bad, it kept raining.

We visited the Hohenschwangau first, as it is located at the lower altitude.  We bought the audio guide to visit the castle inside.

Toy Story 3

Frustration

My 1-year (probably 2 years) Assistant Civil Engineer will be posted to HyD/Urban.

[發爛渣mode starts here]

Feeling frustrated about this ACE posting, I am really fucked up.

I am afraid. I am really afraid that I can't get opportunity to learn there... no projects, only maintenance, works orders, complaints... how can I equip myself for the professional exam and perm e interview? what the hell?

no other CEGs/AEs there, whom can I talk to? whom can I discuss with?

fuck why every time my opportunity is worse than other CEGs... we are supposed to be the same right? Why I am always the fucked-up one??? Why? Why? Why? FUCK YOU!

I feel so helpless. I can do nothing on this shit but just wide open my leg and enjoy this rape

[發爛渣mode ends here]

Whatever, life has to go on... it's not the end of the world anyway!
I think I am though enough to go through it... there are always opportunities ahead of you.
Hmm... what is my priority #1 task is to fix the professional examination. It really matters: prospects, money and living!

Germany and Czech 2010 - 1

As the first time to visit Europe, I think it's worth to write something for it.

First stop – Munich

19 June 2010 (Sat)

Our first stop was Munich. It was around 7 p.m. when we arrived the airport.

The Munich International Airport

The plane arrived at around 7. But the custom was slow. Long queue as the officer asked quite a lot questions. Luckily we prepared and printed out a copy of our hotel booking email and we gave them the whole copy to them for checking. They asked why we went to Germany, lived in where, stay how many days, how much you brought.

We reached the town by train. It was not a smooth one. We bought the Munich day ticket at the airport at Euro 18.8 (2-5 persons) and got on the train (S1). It was a right train. But on the train we met two HK girls (also to travel) and told us that we got on the wrong train! We took off at the next station and found out that it was the right train… finally we got to our destination – Hauptbanhof.

The weather was much cooler than we expected. And it was raining slightly. I think it was only around 15 degree. Candy and I didn’t bring enough clothing for it.

The S-bahn and U-bahn part of Hauptbanhof is quite old, , and a bit dirty for us when compared to the MTR standard. I was quite grey about that. And we didn’t know the way to our hotel, though it’s only 5 minutes walk from the station. We asked some people, but their English was not so well and we couldn’t get much information from them. It was raining slightly which made the situation worse.

Finally we found the right exit and street after asking an Asian couple (dunno if they are Chinese or Japanese, they can speak English, anyway). On the way an old lady asked me if I can give her some money and I gave her Euro 1 without thinking… she should be professional for asking money from tourists… whatever we got to the hotel finally. We lived in Hotel Eder.

There were 2 people, one middle-aged and one old man, at the reception when we checked in. They were generally nice and could speak good English. I used some hot water to make a cup noodles for my 1st dinner in Germany. Candy said she was not hungry and didn’t eat anything.
The room was neat and clean and quite big in size. We watched the World Cup. We found out that our plug adaptor was not suitable for the power plug in Germany! We were worried that we could not charge our cameras.

We slept early. We both were exhausted after long hours flight.
